Texas Economics Consortium: Students and Faculty Present at UTRGV

Faculty and students from 成人头条's Woody L. Hunt College of Business participated in the 2025 Texas Economics Consortium Conference hosted by The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV).
The event gathered students, faculty, community members, and industry professionals from across the state to share research in economics, business, and regional development.
The conference provided opportunities to explore career paths and build new connections across Texas institutions.

What Happened
Associate Professors Jose Bucheli and Rhet Smith presented their research and attended the conference alongside undergraduate students Marissa Ramirez and Mariel Yeverino. Participants attended presentations, connected with faculty and peers from other Texas universities, and met with McAllen city officials to discuss economic development in border regions.
Next year’s conference will be hosted by the University of St. Thomas in Houston, followed by the University of Dallas in 2027. As a founding institution, 成人头条 has been invited to host the conference in 2028.
