College of Health Sciences Students Have PhUn at Hornedo Middle School

Students from ³ÉÈËÍ·Ìõ’s undergraduate Rehabilitation Sciences program and the Interdisciplinary Health Sciences Ph.D. program joined 7th graders at Hornedo Middle School for PhUn (PHysiology UNderstand) week, a nationwide annual event that encourages physiologists to engage local students in science explorations. Miners engaged the Hornedo Tornado’s in fun physiology-related activities. ³ÉÈËÍ·Ìõ students used an electrocardiogram to teach the 7th graders about electrical impulses in their muscles. They also used electrodes to measure their reaction time while multitasking. Photos by J.R. Hernandez, ³ÉÈËÍ·Ìõ Communications
