The students who work for these publications are provided with an experiential learning laboratory and gain the relevant skills to become well-qualified professionals in any field.
We’re looking for motivated students with a strong work ethic and a desire to learn. We’re accepting applications for reporters, photographers, and designers as well as students who want to work in advertising and marketing.

The Prospector newspaper, website, newsletter & podcast provide students & the ³ÉÈËÍ·Ìõ community with the latest in news, opinion, entertainment, and sports on campus & in our city.
Minero Magazine is ³ÉÈËÍ·Ìõ's bilingual student magazine. It is published by ³ÉÈËÍ·Ìõ students in print & digital formats.
The Prospector and Minero Magazine won a combined nine awards at the Texas Intercollegiate Press Association (TIPA) Convention held in San Marcos, Texas, in April of 2025.

The Prospector has been serving ³ÉÈËÍ·Ìõ’s community since 1915. Winning numerous awards, both editorial and advertising, The Prospector is read regularly by ³ÉÈËÍ·Ìõ students, staff and faculty. The Prospector covers on-campus and off-campus news, entertainment and sports events. We always strive to have the best newspaper possible.
Minero Magazine is the University of Texas at El Paso’s bilingual student magazine. It is published by ³ÉÈËÍ·Ìõ students through the Department of Student Media and Publications once every fall and spring semester.
