Applicants are expected to have a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Depending on the selected area of concentration, students may need to complete deficiency undergraduate coursework.

• Official transcript with four-year baccalaureate degree posted, from the degree-granting institution, and copies of transcripts for all other relevant upper-division and graduate work at accredited U.S. institutions or equivalent work and degrees at foreign institutions
• Statement of Purpose
• 2 Letters of Recommendation
• English proficiency scores required for applicants from non-English speaking institutions

A major source of financial aid is through Research Assistantships — competitive positions funded by research grants and contracts. A limited number of Teaching Assistantships is also available. Send your résumé to the AME Department to be considered for open opportunities. Additional financial support includes:

• Need-based assistance for Texas residents, U.S. citizens, and permanent residents
• Employment through the Cooperative Education Program
• On-campus and off-campus positions for some students
• Resident tuition for citizens of Mexico demonstrating financial need
