Dr. Keith Polette’s haibun, “Devotion” and “Emanations,” appear (by invitation) in the anthology, Contemporary Haibun 20, published by Red Moon Press.

Dr. Keith Polette’s haibun will appear in The Haibun Journal, Issue 7:1:  “Invested,” “Dead of Night,” and “Gamma Days.”  The editor of the journal offered these remarks:  “It is very unusual for an author to have three haibun accepted to an issue of The Haibun Journal.”

GRANTS, Awards, & Appointments

Dr. Elias Adanu was awarded a 6-month residential fellowship at the Center for Advanced Internet Studies in Germany for a research project titled, “How to Mint a Digital Nation: Crypto-Capitalism and its African Merchants of Hope.”

Dr. Elias Adanu (with Alex Ohemeng) was awarded a grant from the Borderlands Digital Humanities Center (BDHC) for the Picturing National Sentiment Digital Humanities Visual Archive.

Dr. Elias Adanu was selected for the Rhetoric Society of America (RSA) inaugural Annual Writing Retreat, in Cincinnati, OH for early career scholars working on a book project. 

Dr. Ramiro De Anda successfully defended his dissertation “Retoriando ‘La Neta’: Cosechando Testimonios del Campo y Desahogos Laborales as Regenerative Rhetoric Pathways for Raza Obrer@ Operating within Marginalized Laboral Spaces” on March 3, 2025. His dissertation committee consisted of Dr. Isabel Baca (Director), Dr. Lucía Dura (second reader), and Dr. Cristina Morales (third reader). Congratulations Dr. De Anda!
